We currently utilize Dentrix Enterprise. We also utilize cloud-based versions of other systems such our EMR. The use of other cloud-based systems allowed our employees not in direct patient contact areas to work from home when COVID first hit. Therefore, departments such as billing, referrals, medical records, etc. were able to complete their daily tasks from home without being exposed unnecessarily. And our patients did not see delays/interruptions in their healthcare process. Our dental staff was unable to do this. In this current season of COVID as well as moving forward after this COVID season, our employees and patients would benefit from a cloud-based system. Our dental employees would have the flexibility to work from home without the need to connect to our network and the associated risks to our network involved with that. One very important aspect is that we are an FQHC; therefore, we need the ability to capture the FQHC questions and perform UDS reporting on this data in the cloud-based version as well.
