Immediate notification when someone else is in the patient progress note at the same time but different work station
I would like a notification (pop up) if I am going to type in the progress note but someone else is in the same patient's chart typing notes already (but at a different work station). At times I will want to enter my SOAP note in my office but the dental assistant is adding a note template to the progress note at the same time (but in the operatory); if we are unaware of this at that moment, when we got to save/sign or exist, this can lead to either a deletion of a note we were hoping to save or the addition of a second note (leading to two notes that need to be revised/combined and taking more time). There is a "someone else is working at another work station" notice after we go to save/close or sign, but this is after we have spent our time entering our desired notes and it can be too late at that point. Having a notice that someone else is already entering patient information into the progress note BEFORE we continue typing our note would be very helpful.
