When posting payments. Why doesnt Dentrix just tie the payment to the clinic that the production or debit adjustment they allocate to?

Applying a payment should tie back to the clinic where the production charge or debit adjustment was originally made why would you want to apply a payment related to procedures done at 1 clinic to another clinic that did not do the work?
